Are your vaccinations up to date?

Yes. I've had a whooping cough vaccination and get vaccinated against the flu annually. I'm also fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Do you have a dedicated studio?

I have a large purpose-designed and built studio, where most of my newborn sessions are held. I also shoot maternity, baby and cake smash sessions in the studio.
Having a dedicated studio allows me to set-up prior to your session, making the most of our time in the studio. It also allows clients a wider variety of props and set-ups, as clients are always able to choose from my selection of in-studio props to incorporate into their sessions.

Do you offer outdoor sessions?

Yes, I offer outdoor Maternity and Family sessions.

Do you provide props and outfits for my session?

Yes, I have a large range of props and outfits for newborn and baby sessions, and a beautiful range of Maternity dresses too.

Do you have maternity dresses available for my session?

Yes, I have a gorgeous range of maternity dresses for you to choose from.

Do you have a lounge area so I can relax during sessions?

I do! I have a comfortable lounge area within the studio for you to relax or entertain kids, complete with a TV to watch Netflix or Disney +.

Do you provide a complete preparation packet so I can arrive fully prepared?

Absolutely. The prep packet (provided once your session is booked) is a guide on what to expect before, during and after your session. From what to wear, to how to prepare your new baby, it covers it all. This allows for a calm environment, as you have prior knowledge of what will happen during your session, and what comes after your session is complete.

Do you specialize, or do you photograph everything?

Many photographers are a Jack-of-all trades. While they may be competent in many different forms of photography, a specialist focuses all of their attention on perfecting their chosen genre. For example, the skills required to beautifully capture weddings are VERY different to those required for handling, posing and capturing newborns.
I specialize in family photography (maternity, newborns, baby and outdoor family sessions). Capturing newborns is my passion; it is what drew me to photography in the first place! I have spent many hours honing my skills in this area. I have participated in mentoring workshops and e-workshops from some of the leading newborn photographers in the industry, along with investing a lot of time and money finding my style and purchasing the appropriate props and equipment in order to provide my clients with these timeless images of their precious little ones.

Do you offer wedding photography?

No, weddings are not my speciality.

Do you have a good reputation and quality testimonials?

Referrals and testimonials are a great way to gauge the professionalism and quality of work from a potential photographer. I pride myself on providing a happy, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for parents, along with my patience, love and care when handling your precious newborn baby. I aim to provide beautiful artwork for each and every client, and go above and beyond to ensure each client loves their final images.
I have over ONE-HUNDRED 5-STAR reviews on Google!

You're not the cheapest photographer around, what makes your work worth the investment?

Anybody can purchase a cheap DSLR camera, call themselves a photographer and charge you $150 for 30 photos; but what are you really paying for?
Photographs of your loved ones are a lifelong investment. These moments in time disappear all too quickly, and beautifully captured images freeze these precious moments, allowing you to look back and remember every little detail in years to come.
The QUALITY of these images is extremely important. Like most things, you get what you pay for! High quality work is worth the investment. If you are not willing to invest your money in a great photographer, then unfortunately the quality of the work is going to suffer.
I aim to capture timeless images, free of fad styling, and edited to the highest standard possible so in 20 years time you are still going to love your images long after the moments were captured, and long after you held your tiny newborn close to your heart, safe and snug in your arms.
Look around my website, it will soon become apparent I am a true professional, not a part-time, cut-price amateur.

Do you use fake digital set-ups and backdrops in your images?

Definitely NOT! All my set-ups are authentic and custom designed for you. Absolutely NO fake digital backdrops or props.

Do you use composite digital imaging for unsafe poses?

Safety is paramount! If there is an unsafe pose you or I wish to incorporate into your session, I will always put your baby first and ensure that we achieve the image safely, using composite editing to achieve the final image in post-production, along with having someone spot the baby (never being more than an arms reach away, ready to steady baby if he/she startles).

How far ahead should I book my session?

To avoid disappointment, I highly advise booking with me at least 3-4 months in advance. At times, I'm fully booked 6 months in advance. However you can always contact me anytime as I may have had client re-schedules and still may have availability. For newborns, booking while you are in the early stages of your pregnancy is the best way to ensure availability for your newborn session.
Due to the uncertain nature of a babies arrival date, I will only take on a limited number of newborn sessions per month and allocate a session date once baby arrives.
Newborns are best captured between weeks 1to 4, however I've consistently had success up to 8 weeks. The best time to book your session is in your second trimester to avoid missing out.

Do you have Wifi?

Yes, the studio has guest Wifi for your convenience.

Do you offer a guaranteed turnaround time for your photos?

Many photographers keep their clients waiting many weeks (if not months) for their completed packages.
Here at Kristielle Amy Studios, from your session date I offer a maximum 3 week turnaround time to the viewing of your session gallery. If you order additional products to your package, I will place the order with my suppliers within 2 working day of your order and notify you as soon as the products have arrived.

Do you offer a professional range of products?

Yes, all of which are available through my online store which will be available to you once your gallery of images has been completed.
I offer master fine art prints, deckled edge prints, calendars, glass portfolio display boxes with prints, linen portfolio boxes with usb and frame mounts including prints, classic matted gallery albums, printed frame mounts, mounted wall prints, premium albums, framed prints, canvases; all using professional quality materials to ensure the highest quality products to display your art.

What's the difference between your prints and those from regular consumer print labs?

The difference is huge! You're paying for a professional quality product, therfore you should demand professional quality prints. Believe it or not, many cut-price photographers use consumer print labs!
I take massive pride in my prints! That's why I use the highest quality fine art papers available in the world today; Hahnemuhle fine art papers. My computer monitor is fully calibrated to ensure colour and tonal consistency with the printers and the quality is always superior.
Printing your images through local consumer labs, such as Big W, etc, will not provide you with anywhere near the same quality or longevity as the master fine art prints I offer.

Do you have qualifications in photography?

Qualifications display a commitment to the craft and offer peace of mind for clients that they are hiring a skilled, professional photographer.
I have completed a Diploma in Photography.

How long have you been a professional photographer?

I have been photographing newborns professionally since 2013 and have been a full-time professional since 2015. Before I was a photographer, I spent 9 years in the Childcare industry, working with children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 6 years. I am also a Mummy of two precious little boys, an Aunt to 6 nieces, 4 nephews, and I absolutely adore newborns!

Do you have a working with children's check?

For peace of mind, I have a current working with children's check, which will be updated as is necessary.

Do you have insurance?

INSURANCE IS A MUST!
All professional photographers should have Public Liability Insurance to protect you and your family if something unthinkable were to happen during your session.
Rest assured, I have Public Liability Insurance.

Do you use professional quality cameras and equipment?

These days, everyone seems to be a photographer! Many use entry-level DSLR cameras with low resolutions and have no formal training, and unfortunately clients are often completely unaware they are paying for an inferior product. You MUST insist your photographer have a FULL FRAME professional camera. This allows you the freedom to enlarge your photos whilst maintaining their sharpness.
All of my equipment is of high professional quality. I currently have FIVE professional cameras. My go-to camera is a mirrorless Nikon Z6ii, of which I have 2. I also have 3 high resolution Nikon DSLR's which include 2 x Nikon D810's and a Nikon D800. All my cameras offer superb quality images with high resolutions, along with top of the range prime lenses.

What cameras do you use?

I have 5 cameras. I currently use mirrorless Nikon Z6ii's, of which I have 2. I also have 3 x Nikon DSLR's including 2 Nikon D810's and a Nikon D800, which are all full frame cameras offering superb image quality.

What lenses do you have?

All my lenses are professional quality prime lenses. I don't use inferior cheap zooms.
- 85mm f/1.4 (outdoor sessions)
- 105mm f/2.8 macro (for close-ups of tiny details)
- 50mm f/1.4
- 35mm f/1.4

Do you edit the images using a professional quality, fully calibrated computer monitor?

Most consumer-grade laptops and desktop monitors lack the ability to accurately match the colour and tone of prints; they are often too bright and are unable to display wide colour gamuts. Professional monitors cost around $2500, and are fully calibrated to ensure colour and tonal consistency and provide the best results possible. Those who do not edit using professional quality monitors which are fully calibrated will likely have images where the colour and tone of your prints will look drab.
I edit using a professional monitor which is fully calibrated in order to achieve the best quality artwork for my clients.
