Take a sneak peek into the space that newborn, maternity, and family photographer Kristielle Amy creates her magic!

You exit the car and make your way towards Kristielle’s Studio, feeling excited with anticipation for what the next couple of hours may bring. Yet rounding the corner to enter the studio, the first thing that grabs your attention isn’t the studio at all; it’s the view! Talk about a relaxed, natural setting! But more on that later…

CONCEPTION

Kristielle is originally from the historic town of Echuca, in Victoria. It’s there that Kristielle opened her first photography studio and learnt her craft. Over 7 years, Kristielle established the regions premiere fine art newborn, maternity, and family photography studio. Yet whilst her studio space was functional, she always dreamt of more!

Growing up, Kristielle’s parents would take the family on regular Queensland holidays. Naturally, Kristielle fell in love with the warm weather, beaches and lifestyle, and her desire was to one day move there. Her Saturday morning ritual was to grab a coffee, relax on the couch and scan the pages of realestate.com, hoping the dream property would one day just jump out… and that’s exactly what happened! 20 acres with river frontage and a small lake. Perfect! And what’s more, the property had an existing outbuilding that would be ideal for a stand-alone photography studio. It had to be… and so it was.

Kristielle then set about designing the perfect studio for her purposes – her dream studio. The building was then renovated, fitted out and styled in a natural, boho theme, surrounding herself with beautiful things to inspire her creativity. Over four-times larger than the Echuca studio, Kristielle finally now has the space to incorporate everything she’s always desired in a studio, without compromises.

FLOW

Everything has been designed for a relaxed, consistent, and easy-going experience. There’s no resetting the studio mid-session, no cramming, and no issues with inconsistent light. Kristielle simply utters a command to Siri, and just like that the scene is set – soft background music begins to play, the ceiling lights go off and a huge 16m2 wall of light fills the space with gorgeous, soft, daylight balanced consistent light. In fact, the light wall is so convincing you could be forgiven for thinking a huge window sits behind the sheer diffusing curtains.

Kristielle has designed the studio space so her sessions can ‘flow’. This means Kristielle can set the studio in advance of a session and move effortlessly from one area to the next without having to stop and re-set. Flow not only makes Kristielle’s work more enjoyable, but also significantly improves your experience as sessions seem to progress effortlessly. Having the ability to move newborns from one area of the studio to the next, without interruptions is especially important for successful sessions.

“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works”

DESIGN

The studio has been designed to be both a functional shooting space and provide for a comfortable and relaxing experience. The floor shooting area includes a professional posing beanbag and stand, rattan couch and chair and even a queen-sized bed for natural lifestyle themed family photographs. The storage area of the studio includes boho themed props, outfits, blankets, layers, headbands, bonnets, and tiebacks. As a bonus for Mum, there’s a large selection of gorgeous dresses to choose from! For your convenience, guest Wi-Fi, and change table facilities are provided. Finally, a comfortable sitting area for parents and family ensures you can relax and enjoy a break while Kristielle set to work capturing your gorgeous new family member.

BOHEMIA

If you’re reading this article, you’ve no doubt seen some of Kristielle’s work. Her love for natural, boho themed sessions is very evident. This reflects her affinity for an alternative, minimal and natural lifestyle. Rattan furniture, layered furnishings, dried flower arrangements, flowing sheer and textured backdrops all ensure Kristielle achieves this. Kristielle’s always focusing on capturing connection, intimacy, and emotion. You may get one ‘all smile for the camera’ shot to give to grandma, but that’s about it!

Bo*he*mi*an:  A person with artistic or literary interests who live and acts free of regard for conventional rules, free of standards of behaviour. One who lives a wandering and alternative lifestyle. Without Bohemians, the World would be a complete bore.

THE PROPERTY

And finally, back to that view! The Studio has a very natural setting, nestled amongst the trees, overlooking the Kolan River. On the northern side of the studio lie a serene 2-acre lake. Far removed from the hustle and bustle, you can’t help but feel a sense of relaxation. Do you have keen fisherman in your family? They’re more than welcome to try their luck from the pontoon for a couple of hours (after the family portion of the photography session of course!). With 20 acres, there’s plenty of space for the kids to run and play. However, with the studio’s proximity to water, parental supervision is a must – kids have a way of getting themselves into all sorts of mischief! Kristelle shoots all her outdoor sessions (except for beach sessions) on the property. An 8-acre grass and flower field provide the perfect setting for natural golden-hour family and maternity shoots.

EXPERIENCE

If you haven’t guessed by now, your experience at Kristielle’s Amy Studios is just as important to Kristielle as the quality of the photography itself. Kristielle doesn’t merely strive for satisfied customers, she wants raving fans! And what better way to make that happen then to provide an amazing experience. With 100+ five-star Google reviews, Kristielle doesn’t just talk the talk, she walks the walk!
